    Destas Black Orchid

Doberman Pinscher Color : Black and Tan

This is not an Afghan Hound.

I've wanted a Doberman for a long time. I've always liked the breed but I thought I preferred German Shepherds. That was until I got my very own German Shepherd and realized that they where not the perfect breed for me. I met Agir Miss Jakoso at the vet clinic that I teched at. I fell in love with the dog.

However, it wasn't the time for me to get another working dog. Nox was young and I was focusing on the Afghans. I was not 100% sure that Doberman where the right breed for me to chose so I waited and thought on it. In 2008 Nox is 7 and stating to slow down a little bit. I decided it was time to get the next working dog/house guardian and I started my hunt for a Doberman.

Enter Nyx. She is a lovely black and tan female from Desta Dobermans. I'm looking to but some obedience and agility titles on her. She has the personality and intelligence for it. Frankly, she is amazing. As much work as Nox was, Nyx is not.

Now for those who wonder about the names, Nyx and Nox have the same name. I thought it was cute and interesting and I liked both forms of the name.

The Meaning of Nox and Nyx

Some may ask why do I have a German Shepherd and a Doberman as well as the Afghans? Well I like all of the dogs. I'm not stuck on one breed although the Afghans are my primary. I don't see why I should not enjoy the other dogs out there. Plus, a working dog an Afghan is not. Sometimes its nice to have a dog that is focused on you. I just wouldn't want seven of them.
