Daemion as a Dog: I believe our past helps prepare us for the future. When I went looking for my Afghan Hounds, temperament was one of my highest concerns. I had grown into dogs showing Great Pyrenees and that calm temperament was something I missed. When I met Daemion as a puppy I was enthralled with his calm, easy going temperament. He would come up, greet you, and go lay down to watch you. if you sat down he'd flop in your lap and go to sleep. There was a serenity to his personality that excited me.

At that time I did not know that he would finish and go on to produce lovely puppies. I looked at this baby cream colored dog and knew that if anything else happened in life, I would be able to live with this dog in blissful co-existence until the day he died.

Daemion is incredibly easy to get along with. He is a calm dog and things do not bother him. He is only pushy when he wants affection or has to go out, and that I do not find to be a big deal. He is happy to sleep on the couch and he will run into the bedroom and flop down to sleep the moment he comes inside. He figures its easier to just sleep on the bed all day then get into mischief and have his bed privileges revoked and I do have to admit, he'd pretty good about sharing the bed.

Daemion as a Champion: I have high hopes in the show ring, I think that most of us do. I looked at Daemion and found the beauty, expression, and poise that would be needed in the ring. I found everything, except the excitement. Showing bores Daemion to tears. Keeping him awake ringside is a bit of a task and he has little to no mood motivation. He would rather lean against me and slide into a cream puddle then look cute for some cheese.

That did not stop me. I realized that my dog had me wound around his cream colored paw and my solution was simple. I shipped him out to Camp Osuna, where he was shown by the spectacular David Osuna, a wonderful handler with a true way with dogs. Daemion showed for David Osuna, and he showed well. At the time I was wrapped up at home with a litter, moving, and my full time job and I wanted Daemion finished ASAP. He left at the end of March and came home at the start of August, a finished Champion and very ready to head back to the bed for some well deserved snoozing.

Daemion's role at Zenth: Daemion is my foundation male. I understand his qualities and I understand his faults. I picked him because through his breeder - Stephanie Hunt-Crowley - I know his history back forty years. I have confidence in what is behind him, and I have confidence in what he is. Daemion has already proven himself as a sire and I have several more litters from him planned. Daemion is also collected and his semen frozen for the future. This wonderful dog and what he offers to the fancy will not be lost after his phyiscal time with us ends.
